March 25, 2001 A few of us luckies were treated to a preview listen of Vince Ditrich's new album, SuperTonic. He has assembled a cast of greats, and they are operating in marvellous synchrony... visit Vince's site for more details... John's solo project is confirmed; he will be recording in the far reaches of the municipality of Tuktoyaktuk, with multi-instrumentalist/composer Ford Pier overseen by the exalted Michael Philip Wojewoda... Hugh is in the studio with James Keelaghan and Oliver Schroer, enjoying the mountain air in Middle Greenland, and he will be playing with Oscar Lopez in future shows... Geoffrey has been sharing his time with the Paperboys and his new Yamaha studio in a suitcase; He has recorded 8 solo records so far in the last 3 1/2 months... Some of the lads are going to climb up the distant face of Mount Yakasobi, a previously undiscovered peak in the Antarctic highlands for fun this coming June: Antarctica's coldest Month. They are prepared for -62 celsius temperatures... January 16, 2001 We belatedly welcome all to the first year of the Millenium! Thank you all for your patience in the forever-timeline this seems to be in revamping our website. There is so much to do, and so little time between baseball games. There are some events upcoming in this year of unexpected happenings, the year of the Snake. Happy New Year! Vince's Solo Album is in the mix and mastering stages. In the SotW web office, we have been pleased to receive a listen copy of the mixes to date, and there is some HOT stuff happening there, baby!! Stay tuned!! Also, Vince is soon to announce the opening of his website, www.vinsynch.com. The Swedish Herring Musuem Concert recording was a partial success, and the band is currently evaluating tapes from it and a past series of concerts at the Maritime Museum in Victoria for inclusion in an extremely limited release CD and bonus pack to be distributed through this site and in other novel ways. The proceeds from such sales, as well as all merchandise proceeds, will be used to record the imminent studio record. Many Thanks to the avid fans who have been discussing taking it upon themselves to bring SotW to their neighborhood -- the band is flattered and touched... practicalities aside, the fellas are formulating strategies and forming a team with which they can bring their brand of musical mania to a venue near you! Bearing in mind the difficulties involved and the vagaries of the rock n roll biz, this could take some doing, but send in your cards and letters. They never get ignored and each and every bit counts! Geoff continues to tour with the Paperboys as they offer him work and fun he simply can't turn down. Hugh is going to be playing bass with Oscar Lopez through the next 6 weeks, and is very excited that his latin music studies of years gone by are going to get a working-out.
